NYCRUNS Falling Leaves Half Marathon & 5K

Start Time: 8:00 AM
Prospect Park
Center Drive
Brooklyn, NY

Usher in fall foliage with us in Prospect Park for either a Half Marathon or a 5K.

Feel like doing this one independently? You may also choose the virtual option.

The USATF-Certified half marathon course is comprised of just under 4 full loops (3.25 hills) of the park and a final sprint down Center Drive. This means that you will pass Center Drive 3x and then make one final left turn to the finish. The 5K course subtracts three of those loops and starts and finishes in the same place.

You can run or walk anywhere you want, including a treadmill.  You can track your miles any way you want and with any device you want. For this race, you must run your race and submit your result by December 31, 2022.

Once you've run, you'll submit your miles through  our new Run This One results system which is accessible to registered runners via their dashboard. You can automatically sync via MapMyRun and Garmin Connect, or you can add runs manually of course.

Most importantly, have fun.

If you’d like to register for this event as a handcycle or wheelchair athlete, please submit your race registration and then send us an email at, so that we can account for you in our handcycle and wheelchair athlete start. We will be in touch with you about start logistics as we get closer to the race!

Please be aware that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all aspects of this race are extremely subject to change including the current vaccination requirement. The following COVID protocols are planned for this event. Prior to the race you will receive more information if changes or additions are necessary.

  • You may not attend the event if you have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 or tested positive in the fourteen (14) days prior to the event.
  • If you test positive for COVID-19 within the fourteen days following the event, you must email so that we may notify staff and participants as necessary.
  • In order to manage crowding, spectators are discouraged at the race, particularly at the start and finish. NYCRUNS reserves the right to ask spectators to leave the race site.

Bag check will be provided. To reduce interaction with staff, we encourage you to avoid checking a bag. If you plan on checking a bag, you must use the single clear bag provided by NYCRUNS. You may not put another full bag/backpack/briefcase inside the clear bag. All items must fit inside the clear bag. NYCRUNS reserves the right to search your bag at any time.

Toilets will be provided and cleaned throughout the event.

While we encourage you to bring your own hydration, water will be available on the course and at the finish. Bagels, spreads, fresh fruit, and more will make up the usual great NYCRUNS post race spread to replenish you at the finish line.

The giveaways for this race will be a tech shirt* and medal.  Finish line photos will be available within a week of the race.

* In order to cut down on waste, we try not to overorder and sizes are not guaranteed.

If you register by 10/3 using a domestic address, your bib will be mailed to you. You will pick up your shirt race day.

If you register after that, you will need to arrive to Prospect Park by 7AM to pick up for the 5K or 7:30AM to pick up for the 10K. Race Day bib pickup will be in the Festival Area in the Nethermead, which is a 15 minute walk to the Start Line.

Virtual participants will not receive bibs. Shirts and medals may be mailed up to one week after the race.

Please make sure the shipping address provided at the time of registration will be valid when your items are shipped.
