THE RACE

Join us as we return to Prospect Park for a wonderful spring 5K benefitting CAMBA and kick off the countdown to Brooklyn with an approximately 9.7 mile training run.

The 5K is a timed race and the training run is untimed. You may participate in the 5K and then continue running if you would like.

BENEFITING CAMBA

CAMBA is one of the city’s largest and most trusted community-based organizations helping over 65,000 people a year with over 160 programs at more than 80 sites. CAMBA helps to feed the hungry, prevent homelessness, build more affordable and supportive housing, provide legal services and workforce development programs, and helps low-income youth believe a college education is in their future and work towards that goal. Your support helps to stabilize the tens of thousands of families who were dealt an unfair hand and have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic and advances an inclusive New York City.

THE COURSE

The 5K course is comprised of just under 1 full loop. The training run is two additional full loops.

All NYCRUNS courses are USATF certified.

AMENITIES

Bag Check - If you plan on checking a bag, you must use the single clear bag provided by NYCRUNS. You may not put another full bag/backpack/briefcase inside the clear bag. All items must fit inside the clear bag. NYCRUNS reserves the right to search your bag at any time.

Toilets - Portable restrooms will be available for use throughout the event.

Refreshments - Water and electrolyte beverage will be available on the course and at the finish. Bagels, cream cheese, and fresh fruit will make up the usual great NYCRUNS post-race spread to replenish you at the finish line.

SWAG - The giveaway for this event will be a shirt. Shirts may be picked up on event day only. In order to cut down on waste, we try not to overorder and sizes are not guaranteed. If you have your heart set on a size, we recommend picking up your shirt before the race.

Photos - Free finish line photos will be available within a week of the race. You will receive an email from MarathonFoto several days after the race to claim your photos.

BIB DISTRIBUTION

If you register thirty days or more before the event using a domestic address, your bib will be mailed to you for no additional cost. Please make sure the shipping address provided at the time of registration will be valid in the month preceding the race.

If you register after that, use an international address, or your bib doesn't arrive in the mail, you must pick up your bib on race day an hour before your start time.
