The iconic route starts in hip North Brooklyn and winds around the waterfront taking you under the historic Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn Bridges while delivering eye popping views of Manhattan.
From there, the route heads up the grand concourses of Fulton Street & Flatbush Avenue before passing through Grand Army Plaza and into historic brownstone Brooklyn before finishing in Prospect Park.
From its humble beginning in Prospect Park to one of the largest road races in the country - it’s a story as timeless as Brooklyn itself!
This race is part of the NYCRUNS Triboro Challenge. Complete the in person NYCRUNS Central Park Half Marathon & 5K, NYCRUNS Queens Half Marathon & 5K, and NYCRUNS Brooklyn Marathon & Half Marathon and receive an awesome medal hanger to show off the bling!
The USATF Certified courses will be electronically timed using the MYLAPS Bibtag system. There will be timing (split) points and clocks throughout the course. Water, Lemon Lime Nuun Endurance, and restrooms will be available approximately every 1.5 miles, and medical support will be available throughout the course.
The Prospect Park Track Club will be providing pace teams for both the marathon (3:00-6:00) and half marathon (1:30-3:00).

There are hydrations stations with Nuun & H20 approximately every 1.5 miles starting at mile 2. Medical stations and portable restrooms are stationed throughout the course.
Your friends can track you and you can revisit your race by checking out the app and digging on the photos taken along the course and at the finish line!
Bag check will be provided. If you plan on checking a bag, you must use the single clear bag provided by NYCRUNS. You may not put another full bag/backpack/briefcase inside the clear bag. All items must fit inside the clear bag. NYCRUNS reserves the right to search your bag at any time.

The NYCRUNS Brooklyn Marathon & Half Marathon Expo Presented By adidas will take place on Friday 4/21 and Saturday 4/23. The location and exact times are TBD.
You must pick up your race bib and t-shirt in-person at the expo, unless you signed up for VIP or Bib Mailing. Bib pickup will not be available on race morning, and you may not run without a bib.

Online registration will close when the race sells out. There is no race day registration.
Please be aware that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all aspects of this race are extremely subject to change. At this time, there are no COVID protocols planned, but we reserve the right to implement any we see fit including masking and proof of vaccination and recent booster.

Results will be emailed (often during the race) and the full results will be posted on our results page after the race. Photos will also be available several days after the event.
Athletes may be subject to drug testing and other validation as deemed necessary to ensure a fair and equal field.

Awards will be given to the top three male, female, and non-binary runners overall in each race. Age group awards in the half will be awarded to the top three in each the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 70-79, and 80 and over. Age group awards in the marathon will be awarded to the top three in each the following age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over. In order to compete in a given gender category, you must have a verifiable history of competing in that gender category whenever possible. By way of example, if you have chosen to compete in an NYCRUNS race in the previous year as a male or female, you may be deemed ineligible for the Non-Binary / Gender Non - Conforming category. Please be aware that there are no established protocols regarding this particular issue and we are doing our best to ensure that the process is equitable for all parties.

Please take public transportation if possible. The L train to Bedford Avenue and G train to Nassau Avenue are closest to the start. Please check mta.info for the most up to date information on public transportation.
Driving is not recommended due to limited street parking and the point to point nature of the course.
The standard no-refunds, no-deferrals, no-transfers policy applies, unless you are signed up for the NYCRUNS Membership Program. NYCRUNS members receive a 10% discount, race deferral rights, and other perks. Strollers or dogs are not allowed in NYCRUNS races and you may be disqualified if earbuds or headphones hinder your awareness. You must remain on pace to finish within the time limit in order to receive course support and an official finish time. As per the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017, any adult interacting with amateur athletes, defined as a child or minor under the age of 18 that participates in youth running programs or any events hosted or operated by NYCRUNS, has a duty to report a reasonable suspicion of sexual misconduct such as child sex abuse, non-consensual sexual conduct, sexual harassment or intimate relationships involving an imbalance of power within a 24- hour period to local law enforcement by calling the New York State Central Register at 800-635-1522. Participants found to be listed on a sex offender registry, convicted of a sex crime, or caught having, creating, or distributing child pornography will be immediately barred from all NYCRUNS events.
