Here’s the least you need to know for the NYCRUNS Go Nuts for Donuts 10K this Saturday, November 16 and the NYCRUNS Go Nuts for Donuts 5K and Sunday, November 17, on Governors Island. This information is the same for both days.
Take The Governors Island Ferry Departing At 7:30 AM (7:15 AM arrival)
Please line up for the ferry at least 15 minutes prior to departure time. Ferries run on the half hour. If you’re not on the 7:30 AM ferry, make sure you’re on the 8:00 AM ferry. There is no guarantee you will make it on time if you take a ferry after 8:00 AM. Once a ferry is full, you must wait for the next ferry. Please follow the staff’s instructions regarding boarding and queuing in line. There’s no charge to ride the ferry for NYCRUNS runners and guests.
The Governors Island Ferry is located at the Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street. It’s best to take mass transit to the ferry terminal. There’s not a lot of parking nearby. If you’re coming on the subway, take either the 4/5 to Bowling Green, the R to Whitehall Street, the J to Broad Street, or the 1 to South Ferry. If the bus is your chosen mode of transit, take the M15 to South Street/Whitehall Street. For those partial to two wheels, there’s a Citi Bike station at South Street/Whitehall Street.
The Race Starts At 9:30 AM
Please be on time. We won’t be able to accommodate late starts.
The Courses
Check out the 5K course or the 10K course and see where the Start, Finish, hydration stations, Festival Area, and the all-important restrooms are located.
Pick Up Your Race Bib & Shirt
If you haven’t received your bib in the mail, you’ll need to pick it up race morning at the Bib Pick-Up tent beginning at 8:00 AM. You’ll need the QR code at the bottom of this email to pick up your bib, so either keep this email handy or have a screenshot of the QR code on your phone for easy access. The faster you can have your QR code scanned, the faster the bib pick up line will move. Your QR code can also be found on your NYCRUNS Dashboard, under upcoming races. You can pick up your NYCRUNS Go Nuts For Donuts tech shirt at the Shirt Pick-Up Tent beginning at 8:00 AM, as well.
You Can Check Your Personal Items
If you have gear to check, head over to the Bag Check Area and drop your things off. For security reasons, all items must be in a clear bag. NYCRUNS can provide an 18” x 24” clear bag if you don’t have one. Sorry, but we are not able to check bags such as backpacks, messenger bags, totes, purses, etc.
Line Up In Your Designated Start Corral
To create a safer and more enjoyable running environment we use a pace-based corral system at the Start. Your Corral will be based on the pace you entered at the time of registration. Your Corral assignment (ranging from “AA” through “F”) will be noted on your bib.
See Your Results
You’ll receive an email after the race with your results. The full race results will be posted on our Results Page after the race as well. Give it a day and if you don’t see your results online or receive an email with your finish time, please fill out this form. If you’re an overall or group award winner, you’ll receive an email notification the week after the race.
