Yes. The NYCRUNS For All initiative provides complimentary race entries to economically challenged residents of the five boroughs. Here’s how it works:
NYCRUNS For All is open to all residents of NYC’s five boroughs (Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island) who are at least 18 years of age at the time of the race and can demonstrate a financial need based on their annual household income falling below the moderate-income level standard as defined by the City of New York here. Up to ten (10) entries to NYCRUNS races in Prospect Park, Central Park, and Flushing Meadows Corona Park will be set aside for this program (the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon is not included). Runners can receive up to two free entries per calendar year.
Entry Process:
- Qualified runners must create a free NYCRUNS account.
- Runners must log into their NYCRUNS Account and request NYCRUNS For All benefits by submitting this form (select “No, It’s Not” related to an existing registration, then select the drop-down option, “NYCRUNS For All”).
- Accepted runners will receive a code that can be used to register for up to two races per calendar year.
- NYCRUNS For All entries are limited and available on a first-come basis.
- Requesters who have a child account can also request complimentary entries for those dependents.
