This team is an integral part of ensuring all athletes are well positioned to have a great race experience. Under the direction of our Start Director and Managers, you will ensure that the starting line process runs smoothly for all of our runners!
For many of our athletes, the Start Team will be among the first NYCRUNS staff they encounter on race day. Some athletes might be competing in their first race, and will be looking to you for encouragement, guidance, or answers to any last-minute questions they have before the race begins.
Our Start Team also manages crowd control, so that the race participants can safely cross the start line on time, while spectators cheer from the sidelines.
Check In: Corner of N. 12th Street and Driggs Avenue, right outside of McCarren Park

By being a part of this group, you will be helping our Course Director and Course Managers. Once the gun goes off at the start line, marshals are stationed strategically along the course to ensure that athletes transit the course safely.
You will also help manage crowd control along the course, working as a team so that spectators can enjoy the race and cheer on their friends and family, all while maintaining a safe and open course for athletes.
Check In: Volunteer Tent at the Wellhouse, located inside Prospect Park off of Prospect Park Southwest. Enter park at 157 Prospect Park Southwest, proceed to Wellhouse located at 200 Wellhouse Drive.
Your actual assignment location will be at Bartel-Pritchard Square (the traffic circle at the intersection Prospect Park West and Prospect Park Southwest)

PLEASE NOTE: Call Times may vary, and an orientation (date and time TBD) will be required by our Medical Director.
Medical volunteers will assist Medical Staff at the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon on Sunday, April 28th at either the Start, along the Course or the Finish. Check in times will vary based on your assigned location.
Medical volunteers will be contacted by NYCRUNS’ medical direction team, iCrowd with more details on your assigned location, check in time and a virtual orientation.

Being a part of the Fluid Station Team is one of the most important roles on race day. As part of the Fluid Station team, you will be under the guidance of our Course Directors and Hydration Managers. Setting up hydration stations along the course pre-race and keeping them well stocked and supplied for our thousands of athletes on race day will be your top priority.
