Start Volunteers will assist NYCRUNS staff with various roles at the Start area for the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon.
On race day, volunteer check-in opens at 4 AM.
Once checked in, you'll be asked to assist with marshalling athletes from public transportation/ various drop off points to the Start area, directing athletes into their corrals, managing crowds and spectators near the Start, or providing support at the pre-race fluid station.
You will receive $100 race credit within 5 days of your shift. Race credit expires on Dec. 31, 2023 and may be used to pay for up to 50% or $40 (whichever is greater) of any NYCRUNS-owned race registration.

Finish Volunteers will assist NYCRUNS staff with various roles at the Finish and Festival area for the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon.
On race day, volunteer check-in opens at 6 AM.
Once checked in, you'll be asked to assist with marshalling finishers from the Finish Line to the Festival Area and managing crowds and spectators near the Finish.
You will receive $50 race credit within 5 days of your shift. Race credit expires on Dec. 31, 2023 and may be used to pay for up to 50% or $40 (whichever is greater) of any NYCRUNS-owned race registration.

Course Volunteers in Zone 1 will assist NYCRUNS staff with course marshalling between Mile 0-4 (Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Navy Yards) for the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon.
Check in will be at the Expo on Friday, April 21, 2023 OR Saturday April 22, 2023 where you'll receive your Check Point Location and SWAG to be worn on race day. Check Point Locations will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
On race day, please report to your assigned Check Point Location by 5:30 AM. A NYCRUNS Staff person will come around to check you in and give you a safety vest to be worn over your outer layer.

Check in will be at the Expo on Friday, April 21, 2023 OR Saturday April 22, 2023 where you'll receive your Check Point Location and SWAG to be worn on race day. Check Point Locations will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.

Lead Cyclist Volunteers will assist NYCRUNS staff as part of our team of bike marshals for the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon.
On race day, please check in with the Start Volunteer Manager at 5:30 AM to receive your walkie-talkie and safety vest and/or SWAG to be worn over your outer layer. Once checked in, you'll be assigned to one of the lead athlete positions to monitor during the race.
Lead cyclists are required to maintain an average cycling speed of 12 mph (equal to a 5 minute/mile running pace) and wear a helmet at all times. There will also be a required pre-race course ride with the Course Cyclist Manager on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Please make sure your bicycle is race ready prior to April 23, 2023.
