Here’s the least you need to know for the NYCRUNS Falling Leaves Half Marathon this Saturday, October 18 in Prospect Park.

Download The NYCRUNS Events App

The free NYCRUNS Events App provides real-time tracking of every runner at every race (and has lots of other useful info too). You, your friends, and family can easily download the app now at the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Getting To The Race

We suggest using mass transit to get to the race. Please check MTA.info for up-to-date info on service changes and other mass transit updates.

  • The closest subways to the Festival Area and the Start Corrals are the Q and S trains at the Prospect Park Station, the Q train at the Parkside Ave. Station, or the F and G trains at the 15th St.-Prospect Park Station. Due to planned track maintenance on race day, the Q train will have reduced service, and the Coney Island-bound F and G trains will bypass 15th St.-Prospect Park station, so if you’re coming from that direction you’ll need to change at Church Ave. for a Manhattan-bound F train or Queens-bound G train to get to the 15th St.-Prospect Park Station.
  • If you’re taking the bus, use the B68 to Prospect Park Southwest/11th Ave. or the B16 to Ocean Ave./Lincoln Rd.
  • Citi Bike stations are located at Prospect Park Southwest/16th St. and Lincoln Rd./Ocean Ave.
  • Parking is limited around the park, but if you’re getting a ride to the race, use 101 Prospect Park Southwest as the destination address to be dropped off at and enter the park at 16th St.

The Festival Area Opens at 5:30 AM

You’ll find the Festival Area in the Nethermead on Center Drive. It’s the hub of race activity. This is where you’ll pick up your bib and race shirt, check a bag, use the bathrooms, and get any questions answered. The Start Corrals are a short walk away on Well House Drive. Bike parking in the Festival Area and locking bikes to NYCRUNS signage are strictly prohibited.

Pick Up Your Race Bib First

If you haven’t received your bib in the mail, you’ll pick it up at the Bib Pick-Up Tent in the Festival Area. Bib pick up closes at 7:00 AM, so please arrive no later than 6:30 AM to give yourself enough time.

When picking up your bib, have your personal QR code ready. It’s located your NYCRUNS Dashboard for this race. The QR code can be added to your Apple Wallet. A screen shot is fine too. If you’re also picking up a bib for another runner, make sure you have an image of their QR code too. For safety and security reasons and per NYCRUNS policy, only you can run with the bib that’s assigned to you.

Get Your Swag

Pick up your official race shirt in the Festival Area after picking up your bib. Just show your QR code again. You can pick up your shirt after the race too. To cut down on waste we try not to over order, so shirt sizes are not guaranteed.

Check A Bag

If you’ve got gear to check, head over to the Bag Check Area and drop your things off. For security reasons, all items must be in a clear bag. NYCRUNS can provide an 18” x 24” clear bag if you don’t have one. Sorry, but we can’t check non-clear bags such as backpacks, messenger bags, totes, purses, fanny packs, etc., nor can you put those bags in the clear bag.

Samsung Rest Club

Our friends at Samsung Health are back and you can visit them at the Samsung Rest Club in the Festival Area. It’s a run club that’s all about rest. Learn how tracking sleep data, including your Energy Score, can unlock your perfect run.

Be In Your Start Corral By 7:15 AM

Please be ready in your assigned corral no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of the race at 7:30 AM. Corrals will be located on Well House Drive, just off West Drive. Corrals are lined up by letter (AA – F). Your corral assignment will be noted on your bib and is determined by the pace you selected in the Profile section of your NYCRUNS Dashboard.

Review Your Course

Check out the half marathon course which starts at West Drive and Well House Drive. You’ll run just under four full loops of the park before making a left turn up Center Drive to the Finish. All NYCRUNS races are USATF-certified.

Be smart At The Finish

Grab a can of smartwater at the Finish to rehydrate after your race (we’ll have electrolyte fluids there too).

Get Your Medal

After you cross the Finish Line and Win Your Race, you’ll be presented with a beautiful, autumnally adorned Finisher Medal!

Don’t Do Prospect Park Dirty

Please throw all cups, bottles, cans, wrappers, and any other garbage in the trash cans located throughout the course and Festival Area. Confetti cannons, which are extremely difficult to clean up, are expressly forbidden.
