Brooklyn, NY, April 18, 2023— NYCRUNS, organizer of running events throughout New York City, has expanded their work with small businesses in conjunction with the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon taking place on April 23rd.
“If I were to list the causes I am most passionate about, supporting local businesses would rank high,” said Steve Lastoe, Founder and CEO. “Not only is this important to me personally, but I have long felt indebted to the residents and businesses of this city for letting us do what we do. I’d like to square that.”
The launch of the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Business Program takes preliminary steps towards a long-term goal of incorporating local brands into a world-class event in a way that is unique to the endurance industry. This program provides free exposure for local brands through social media collaborations, branded signage along the course, and activations at the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon Expo presented by adidas on April 21-22.
The Brooklyn businesses chosen for this year’s program include Skyline Drive In, F45 Training DUMBO, Pilates BKLYN, and Principal Physical Therapy PLLC.
Among the roster of locally owned businesses partnering with the 2023 NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon is Brooklyn Cannery, this year’s featured Local Business Sponsor.
Brooklyn Cannery, known for their prebiotic, gut-happy sodas, will be providing samples and more information about their brand at their booth at the Expo. Additional partners providing runner experiences with at the Expo include Nuun, Brooklyn Brewery, Broadway Cares, Weill Cornell Primary Care, NYU Langone, Kitu Super Coffee, and the Prospect Park Track Club.
