Brooklyn, New York (April 28, 2025) – An event-record 24,461 runners finished the 2025 NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon today, announced Steve Lastoe, CEO & Founder of NYCRUNS, the event’s owner and operator.

“Put it in the books!” said Lastoe. “Everyone was a winner today as a record number of runners experienced Brooklyn at its best, from the great neighborhoods we ran through to the spectacular sights we saw to the juiced-up crowds cheering the runners on along the way. We can’t wait to do it all over again in 2026!”

The 24,461 finishers bested last year’s record total of 21,727 by more than 2,700 runners, continuing a trend for the nation’s fastest growing race.

The Women’s Division winner, Fanny Fredriksson of Manhattan, won with a time of 1:20:42. A NYCRUNS Local Elite Group runner, Fredriksson has now won four NYCRUNS half marathons in the Women’s Division over the past year. The Nonbinary Division winner, Winter Parts of State College, PA, won with a time of 1:15:15. Parts is a repeat event champion in the Nonbinary Division with a win in 2022. The Men’s Division winner, Ryan Cutter of Brooklyn, won with a time of 1:06:55. Cutter claimed the win after finishing second in last year’s race. The Handcycle Division winner was Ricardo Corral of Queens with a time of 59:39. Corral is an Achilles International-NYC team member. All results are preliminary and not yet official.

The 13.1-mile course began in hip North Brooklyn on the border of Williamsburg and Greenpoint and winded along the East River waterfront under the historic Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn Bridges. The route then took runners through downtown Brooklyn, up the historic concourses of Fulton Street and Flatbush Avenue and past the Oatly Halfway Halftime Show, before passing through Grand Army Plaza and ending in Prospect Park with a celebratory finish on the Nethermead lawn.

The NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon is an annual running rite of spring in Brooklyn. Next year’s race is set for Sunday, April 26, 2026. As a special offer, NYCRUNS is making a limited number of guaranteed 2026 race entries available for $99, while supplies last. Interested runners can register at nycruns.com.

Launched in 2011 as the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Marathon with 262 finishers running multiple loops around Prospect Park, the half marathon was added in 2018. In 2023, the event became a standalone half marathon and soon became the fastest growing race in America.
