About The Club

The Staten Island Athletic Club, one of the oldest sports clubs in the country, started in the year 1876 by men who wanted to engage in athletic pursuits such as running, rowing, jumping, walking, and hurdle-racing. Today the men and women of SIAC focus primarily on running.

Club members enjoy:

Weekly opportunities to run together, such as the Saturday Fun Run, the Sunday Long Run, and the Tuesday Night Track Workout.
Bragging rights. SIAC has placed within the top 10 of over 60 teams that compete in New York Road Runners races. The SIAC Male and Female Open and Masters teams consistently place in local races.
Member support during local races and post-race food and festivities.

Club discounts for SIAC-sponsored races and other local races.
Training partners and encouragement from runners of all abilities.
Trail and ultra running, along with multi-sport racing, triathlons and adventure/obstacle racing.

Extreme races, a new offshoot of SIAC, called SIAC Xtreme.
Fun and exciting club-centered events such as Beer Runs, Beach Parties and Polar Plunges in Coney Island every New Year's Day.
