It’s been a while since we’ve collected this information, so here is where we stand as we approach nearly the one year mark of the pandemic
As of now, we have put nearly every race we expect to have in the first half of 2021 on sale. We also hope to see some 10Ks added to the schedule starting in April, most likely adjoining our 5K events in Brooklyn and on Governors Island. We’re working with our partners in the City of New York to increase the variety of our offerings and hopefully bring things a little bit closer to normal. We expect to put more races on sale in about a month.
Virtual racing will not be going away! By the end of this week, we will have added a virtual component to every race on sale. We expect to continue adding them to races throughout the year. We want our events to be accessible to everyone and many of you still prefer this option – we’re here to please.
While we don’t expect to have to cancel many in person races going forward, clearly anything can happen. If we do have to cancel a race, you will have a choice of either switching to the virtual option or running the event in 2022. If you are part of our membership program, you may also receive race credit upon request. Race credit is usable for just about any NYCRUNS event and expires one year after the date of issue.
We will probably have another update for you in March!
