Brooklyn, New York (January 15, 2025) – NYCRUNS has launched the Brooklyn Experience Local Business Initiative, designed to support small, Brooklyn-based businesses and elevate the Brooklyn runner experience at the 2025 NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon, it was announced today by Steve Lastoe, CEO & Founder of NYCRUNS, the event’s owner and operator.
“What’s more Brooklyn than supporting your favorite neighborhood store or business?” noted Lastoe. “A big part of running 13.1 miles through the heart of Brooklyn is to experience life in the neighborhoods, both before and after the race. Our new Local Business Initiative will connect Brooklyn businesses with the thousands of runners and their supporters on hand for race weekend.”
Powered by the energy of NYC’s coolest borough, the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon is America’s fastest growing race featuring over 25,000 participants. Set for Sunday, April 27, the race takes runners on an authentic Brooklyn journey along historic streets, through legendary neighborhoods, and under iconic bridges with renown skyline views.
The NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Local Business Initiative provides qualifying Brooklyn-based small businesses with promotional opportunities through a marketplace hub available to runners and their supporters.
A highlight of the program will be the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Local Business Partnership, where one lucky business will receive an official race partnership at the 2025 NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon. The partnership will feature a package of marketing assets including a dedicated Cheer Zone along the course, their logo on the official race t-shirt, company branded signage at the Start and Finish Areas, inclusion in event related emails and social posts, and exposure on the event website and app.
To become part of the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Local Business Initiative and to be considered for the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Local Business Partnership, local Brooklyn businesses will need to submit a short, fun narrative (maximum 250 words) on why runners should visit their business to experience Brooklyn. The submission can also include photos, video, or any links about the business. If the business wants to provide a special offer for runners, all the better.
All submissions must be emailed to partnerships@nycruns.com with Local Business Initiative in the subject line, no later than January 27. Business name, address, and contact information must be included.
