Battery Park Esplanade

Address: Robert F. Wagner Park (North) New York, NY

Picture this: You’re staring at a beautiful mix of pinks, oranges, and yellows reflected off the river as you cross the finish line. You’re greeted with warm smiles and bagels.  Sweat rolls down your cheeks and just misses the huge grin spread across your face.  In this moment, you are a runner. In this moment, you are a lifesaver.

On Saturday, May 4th, the I.S. 276 National Junior Honor Society will host the Run For Hope on the Battery Park City Esplanade. Runners (ages 13+) will gather alongside the beautiful Hudson River to participate in a 5K race (3.1 miles) benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). As participants finish this out and back race, thankful volunteers from the I.S. 276 NJHS and LLS’s Rally Campaign, will greet them.

The National Junior Honor Society of Battery Park City School (BPCS) is an organization that renders service, promotes leadership, and develops character in their students. Mentored by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Rally Campaign, students raise funds and awareness in honor of the LLS Boy and Girl of the Year, and childhood blood cancer survivors, DJ and Daniya. Funds raised will support essential research and services to children and adults afflicted by blood diseases.

The cost to run is $25 (Early Bird Special) until April 26th and $30 thereafter. $40 day of event. Email Michael.Flegar@bpcschool.org for student discount code. Bag check, pretzels and water will be provided at the Start/Finish. The top 3 overall men and women will receive student made champions’ necklaces.  Bib pick up will be held at The Battery Park City School, 55 Battery Place, New York, NY on Friday, May 3rd from 3pm to 7pm. Bibs can also be picked up on the morning of the race near the Start line.

We ask you to run with us. Hope with us. Fund us. Help us to cure blood cancers.
