Roosevelt Island Hot Chocolate 5K /10KClaim Race (Race Directors Only)

Join us for the 2nd Annual Hot Chocolate 5K & 10K on Roosevelt Island! This mid-December event comes at the perfect time to break up the holiday season, helping you to stay focused amid all the cookies and cocktail parties. Plus hot cocoa always tastes better when it’s earned!
Courses: Please see our standard 5K and 10K course maps, though due to damage from Hurricane Sandy the actual courses may be modified slightly. Both will be properly measured and marked accordingly. Please check back for updates.
Awards: Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female runners in each race and the top 3 in each age group approximately one hour after the race begins.
Packet Pickup: Packet pickup will take place at the the Running Company in Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle (59th Street & Broadway):
- on Friday, Dec. 13, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM
- on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 1:00 – 5:00 PM
Amenities: Bag check and toilets will be provided. A free hot chocolate mug will be given to all participants. Hot chocolate, bagels, spreads, and fresh fruit will make up the usual great post race spread.
Directions: Take the F train or Tram to Roosevelt Island All pre- and post-race activities are on Firefighters Field, a short walk from public transit, just north of both starting areas and just south of the finish. Please check MTA Trip Planner for up to date and detailed mass transit directions and Google Maps for driving directions. Parking is limited at all of our events, we strongly encourage you to use mass transit.
Cost: $25 until 11/17, $30 until 12/8, and $40 thereafter. NYCRUNS members receive a 5% discount, race deferral rights, and other perks. Race day registration (if available) is cash only. Register early and save us all a lot of hassle!
