Race Calendar

The North Avenue Mile

June 11, 2017

Start time: 9:00 AM

North Avenue and Paine Avenue

Address: North Avenue and Paine Avenue New Rochelle, NY

The North Avenue Mile will test accomplished veterans of track and trail while giving new runners, kids and families the thrill of running in a professionally managed, electronically timed USATF certified one-mile road race through the heart of historic New Rochelle.

Concerned about the competition? Don’t be. You can choose whether or not you want to compete in an age appropriate competitive wave or opt in to the less serious family wave. Please note, you MUST run in the wave you were assigned in order to receive an accurate time and be eligible for awards. (If you want to run for fun in the family wave AND be timed in a competitive wave, select “competitive”)

North Avenue will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event.

This year’s charity partner is My Sisters’ Place.

Starting at Paine Cottage (intersection of North Avenue & Paine Avenue), heading south on North Avenue, it’s a 1 mile course past New Rochelle High School on your right and then Iona College on your left, finishing up in front of picturesque, historic City Hall (515 North Avenue).

For 40 years My Sisters’ Place (MSP) has worked to change the way our community thinks about violence in intimate relationships and combat the effects of domestic violence and human trafficking. Holistic services include:  a 24-hour crisis hotline, two emergency residential shelters, one-on-one and group counseling for adults and children, a Center for Legal Services, professional outreach and a vibrant tween/teen education and prevention program. MSP strives to engage each member of society in their work so that all relationships can embrace the principles of respect, equality, and peacefulness.
