NYCRUNS Running Festival of LightsClaim Race (Race Directors Only)

Nov 24, 2013

Start time: 5K - 8:00AM; 10K - 9:00AM; Half - 10:30AM. Bib Pickup Starts At 7AM.

Shore Road Park Pier

Address: Shore Road and 69th St. Brooklyn, NY

This race is completely sold out – there will be absolutely no race day registration.

Join us for the first ever Running Festival of Lights in Shore Road Park!  In the brilliant words of Adam Sandler, it’s “so much funnukah to celebrate Chanukkah!”  We couldn’t agree more.  What better way to celebrate than by running the Chanukkah Gelt 5K, the Oy Vey 10K or the Chanukkah Chalf?

Courses: You can choose the 5K, 10K, or Half-Marathon — all on the super-flat, scenic bike path that hugs the southern edge of Brooklyn. You’ll run under the Verrazano Bridge and see the Manhattan Skyline from a dozen miles away. It’s New York running from a whole new perspective — believe it.

Time Limit: The official time limit is 90 minutes for the 5K and 10K and 3 hours for the half marathon but as a rule of thumb the last thing we unplug is the finish line mat – take your chances over 3:00.

Awards: Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female runners in each race and the top finisher in each ten year age group.

Packet Pickup: Packet pickup will be at JackRabbit Sports Brooklyn from 4PM-8PM Thursday 11/21 and at JackRabbit USQ from 4PM-8PM on Friday 11/22. Race day pickup begins at 7:30 for the 5K & 10K and 8:45 for the Half.

Amenities: A great long sleeve race shirt and Channukah gelt will be included. Bag check and toilets will be provided. Hot chocolate, bagels, spreads, and fresh fruit (the typical nosh!) will make up the usual great NYCRUNS post race spread.

Directions: Take the R train to Bay Ridge Avenue and walk downhill to Shore Road Park.  Please check MTA Trip Planner for up to date and detailed mass transit directions and Google Maps for driving directions. Parking is limited at all of our events, we strongly encourage you to use mass transit.

Cost: $35 through 10/31, $45 through 11/17 and $50 thereafter.  NYCRUNS members receive a 5% discount, race deferral rights, and other perks.

The standard no-refunds, no-deferrals, no-transfers policy applies, unless you are signed up for the NYCRUNS membership program.
