New for 2021, the NYCRUNS Fathers Day Half Marathon takes you and Dad on a sunny tour of Flushing Meadows Park. The traffic-free course winds through the park, with great views of all the World's Fair sites and more.
Afterwards, head into downtown Flushing to sample the great ethnic cuisine - there's everything you can imagine (and perhaps a few things you cannot).
Feel like doing this one independently? You may also choose the virtual option.
We hit all the famous landmarks and some parts of FMP you may never have seen before.
Please be aware that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all aspects of this race are extremely subject to change. The following procedures will be in effect for this event:
Bag check will be provided. To reduce interaction with staff, we encourage you to avoid checking a bag. If you plan on checking a bag, you must use the single clear bag provided by NYCRUNS. You may not put another full bag/backpack/briefcase inside the clear bag. All items must fit inside the clear bag. NYCRUNS reserves the right to search your bag at any time.
Toilets will be provided and cleaned throughout the event.
While we encourage you to bring your own hydration, water and Gatorade will be available at the start, on the course, and at the finish. Due to COVID-19, we will forgo bagels, spreads and fresh fruit but water at the finish will be delivered in a goodie bag along with Gatorade, Dole Fruit Bowls in 100% Juice and other snacks.
The giveaway for this race will be a tech shirt* and medal. Free finish line photos will be available on your results page within a week of the race.
* In order to cut down on waste, we try not to overorder and sizes are not guaranteed.
There will be no pre-race or race day bib pickup for this event. Bib mailing is the only way for in person participants to get their bib for this race and is included in the cost of registration. Shirts may be picked up on race day. You must have your bib pinned to your chest to enter the race site.
Virtual runners will have their shirts shipped to them directly, but will not receive their bibs.
Please make sure the shipping address provided at the time of registration will be valid when your items are shipped, 5 - 10 days before the race.
Virtual races have been around for a few years at least and come in all shapes and sizes. Largely though, they are designed so that you can do the race you want, when you want.
You can run or walk anywhere you want, including a treadmill. You can track your miles any way you want and with any device you want. For this race, you must run your race and submit your result by December 31, 2021.
Once you've run, you'll submit your miles through our new Run This One results system which is accessible to registered runners via their dashboard. You can automatically sync via MapMyRun and Garmin Connect, or you can add runs manually of course.
Most importantly, have fun.
Results will be emailed (often during the race) and the full results will be posted on our results page after the race. Finish line photos will also be available on the results page several days after the event.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners overall.
Age group awards will be awarded to the top three in each the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.
Note: Overall winners will be determined by gun time and must start in the vaccinated wave.
There are no awards for the virtual event.
Our awards policies are available here.
