NYCRUNS Father's Day Half Marathon

Start Time: 7:30 AM
Queens - New York City!
Flushing Meadows Corona Park
Queens, NY

New for 2021, the NYCRUNS Fathers Day Half Marathon takes you and Dad on a sunny tour of Flushing Meadows Park. The traffic-free course winds through the park, with great views of all the World's Fair sites and more.

Afterwards, head into downtown Flushing to sample the great ethnic cuisine - there's everything you can imagine (and perhaps a few things you cannot).

Feel like doing this one independently? You may also choose the virtual option.

We hit all the famous landmarks and some parts of FMP you may never have seen before.

Please be aware that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all aspects of this race are extremely subject to change. The following procedures will be in effect for this event:

  • Runners who show proof of vaccination will start at 7:30 AM. You must be in the corrals by 7:15 AM. Upon entry to the race site, you will need to confirm your vaccination status by producing an original or copy (photos are ok) of your CDC vaccination card or by using the NYS Excelsior app. You do not need to wear a mask or social distance throughout the event.
  • Runners who do not show proof of vaccination will start shortly after. You must be in the corrals by 7:15 AM. Upon entry to the race site, a medical professional will take and record your temperature. If you are not in the vaccinated wave, you must wear a face covering throughout this event other than when running. When running, you may remove the covering only when you can maintain social distance and the covering must remain around your head in some fashion so it can easily be reapplied. Running in a group of two or more is not permitted.
  • You may not attend the event if you have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 or tested positive in the fourteen (14) days prior to the event.
  • Neither you nor any guests may congregate near the start or finish areas prior to, during, or after the race
  • If you test positive for COVID-19 within the fourteen days following the event, you must email so that we may notify staff and participants as necessary.

Bag check will be provided. To reduce interaction with staff, we encourage you to avoid checking a bag. If you plan on checking a bag, you must use the single clear bag provided by NYCRUNS. You may not put another full bag/backpack/briefcase inside the clear bag. All items must fit inside the clear bag. NYCRUNS reserves the right to search your bag at any time.

Toilets will be provided and cleaned throughout the event.

While we encourage you to bring your own hydration, water  and Gatorade will be available at the start, on the course, and at the finish. Due to COVID-19, we will forgo bagels, spreads and fresh fruit but water at the finish will be delivered in a goodie bag along with Gatorade, Dole Fruit Bowls in 100% Juice and other snacks.

The giveaway for this race will be a tech shirt* and medal.  Free finish line photos will be available on your results page within a week of the race.

* In order to cut down on waste, we try not to overorder and sizes are not guaranteed.

There will be no pre-race or race day bib pickup for this event. Bib mailing is the only way for in person participants to get their bib for this race and is included in the cost of registration. Shirts may be picked up on race day. You must have your bib pinned to your chest to enter the race site.

Virtual runners will have their shirts shipped to them directly, but will not receive their bibs.

Please make sure the shipping address provided at the time of registration will be valid when your items are shipped, 5 - 10 days before the race.

Virtual races have been around for a few years at least and come in all shapes and sizes. Largely though, they are designed so that you can do the race you want, when you want.

You can run or walk anywhere you want, including a treadmill.  You can track your miles any way you want and with any device you want. For this race, you must run your race and submit your result by December 31, 2021.

Once you've run, you'll submit your miles through  our new Run This One results system which is accessible to registered runners via their dashboard. You can automatically sync via MapMyRun and Garmin Connect, or you can add runs manually of course.

Most importantly, have fun.

Results will be emailed (often during the race) and the full results will be posted on our results page after the race. Finish line photos will also be available on the results page several days after the event.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners overall.

Age group awards will be awarded to the top three in each the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.

Note: Overall winners will be determined by gun time and must start in the vaccinated wave.

There are no awards for the virtual event.

Our awards policies are available here.
