As an Event Development Manager, you’ll be one of the linchpins in the formulation and execution of more than two dozen running events annually, instrumental in developing event plans and innovating ways to improve our operational efficiency throughout the event cycle.

This role is heavy on logistics, so impeccable attention to detail and ability to effectively problem solve is imperative. Superior written and verbal communications ability is also an absolute requirement.

The ideal candidate is an outgoing person who is passionate about endurance sports, wants to produce “best in class” event experiences, and is looking to establish themselves as a rising star in the industry.


  • Working with the Director Of Event Development to develop event plans for NYCRUNS events.
  • Collaborating with the Director Of Event Development in the recruitment, training, and assignment of part-time, seasonal and temporary event staff.
  • Creating documentation that facilitates understanding of in event practice and procedure.
  • Liaising externally with City Agencies and local communities to ensure all aspects of permitting and awareness are appropriately fulfilled.
  • Functioning as a part of our event production team at approximately two dozen events annually.
  • Other duties and projects will be assigned based on individual skill set and organizational needs. You will be expected to pitch in in many different ways and be given the opportunity to explore other aspects of the company based on your unique skill set.


  • Attention to detail and a high degree of organization.
  • Flexibility in scheduling—must be able to work occasional nights and regular weekends as needed in support of NYCRUNS events.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Meticulous attention to maintaining a safe and efficient environment for operations.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid, clean driver’s license; commercial driver’s license a plus.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.


  • 2+ years experience in live-event environment, ideally in an operations or logistics role.
  • Endurance experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
