Founded in 2009, NYCRUNS mission is to create the very best running events in New York City and to develop our flagship Brooklyn Marathon & Half Marathon into one of the most iconic running events in the world. In 2022, NYCRUNS will stage approximately two dozen running events in NYC (and one in New Jersey) for as many as 100,000 athletes. We’re based in Industry City, a hip office and retail complex in Brooklyn.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The right person for the position of Executive Assistant is an outgoing person, who is passionate about running, racing, and Brooklyn, home to our flagship Brooklyn Marathon & Half Marathon. To be clear, we are only reviewing candidates who have a demonstrated passion for our interests.

As Executive Assistant, you will assist the leadership team at NYCRUNS in their day to day tasks, maintaining and improving internal processes and managing interaction for NYCRUNS both internally and externally. This role requires outstanding communication skills,  a high attention to detail and the ability to proactively problem solve.

All members of the NYCRUNS Team take on an active role in Events from planning to execution. This role, while entry-level, provides significant opportunities for growth within the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Supporting senior team members to guarantee that company goals and objectives are accomplished, and operations run efficiently.

Maintain and improve internal processes to support all team members and expedite workflow.

Contribute to the growth of NYCRUNS via customer service channels including digital and retail channels.

Be an integral part of our event day operations team to provide a high quality racing experience to all registrants.

Assist the communications teams to ensure consistent messaging is relayed across all channels at all levels.

Bookkeeping tasks including AP entry in QuickBooks, preparing payment schedules weekly and managing vendor records for tax and insurance purposes.

HR and payroll including employee onboarding and offboarding, maintaining accurate employee records and biweekly payroll reporting.

Coordinate various organizational tasks such as maintaining calendars for the executive team, manage travel and purchases for the company.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS SHOULD INCLUDE

6 months experience in an administrative role reporting directly to management.

Stellar written communication skills including impeccable grammar and use of punctuation

High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

An energetic and outgoing attitude, with an analytical approach on the best ways to grow our brand.

A desire to be in a startup environment and be a team player who can also work independently

Bachelor’s degree in relevant area

Strong social media skill helpful, but not necessary

Sales or Retail experience helpful, but not necessary

Relevant industry experience helpful, but not necessary.
